                    This is regarding Special drive to revive lapsed Postal Life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance policies.  Employees prefer to take Postal Life Insurance policies and rural people prefer to take Rural Postal Life Insurance policies on account of lower  premium and higher bonus. To reap the benefits of Postal Life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance, regular payment of premium is mandatory.  If premium is not paid for a period of more than 6 months in a policy which is in force for less than 3 years, the policy will be treated as lapsed. In case the premium is not paid for more than 12 months in a policy which is in force more  than 3 years, also the policy will be treated as lapsed.  The customer will lose the benefits on account of any claim if a lapsed policy is not revived.  It is also necessary to revive one’s policy to get bonus every year. Many customers are not aware of  the procedure as to how to revive their policy, whom they have to approach etc.  In order to help customers to revive policies which are lapsed it is planned to conduct revival drive  at each Post Office/Divisional office through out Andhra Pradesh during the period from 18.03.2013 to 31.03.2013.  All PLI/RPLI customers are requested to utilize this opportunity to keep their precious lives insured.

GDS STAFF WHO QUITS THE DEPARTMENT ON THEIR OWN ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR GRATUITY

As per Director General Instruction -13 under Rule - 6 of GDS ( CONDUCT AND ENGAGEMENT) Rules  gratuity is payable only if the services of an ED Agent are terminated in consequence of an action of the department, subject to their fulfillment of the other prescribed conditions and that no gratuity is payable if an ED Agent quits the agency on his own.
